Work Readiness Academy Admissions

UCESC logo

The Work Readiness Academy is currently accepting enrollment applications for students with disabilities between the ages of 17 and 21. Students are referred for admissions throughout the school year by the local, public school district in which he or she is currently enrolled.

If you are interested in learning more about the Work Readiness Academy, please first discuss with your child's case manager and then have them contact Mr. Josh Bornstein at [email protected] or (908) 233-9317 Ext. 246 to setup a tour and intake meeting.

  • The Case Manager assigned to the student is required to submit a copy of current educational records, including all CST evaluations and the most recent Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).

  • All educational records are reviewed by a multi-disciplinary admissions committee at Crossroads School and appropriate candidates are invited to participate in an intake appointment.

  • The intake appointment is attended by the student along with his or her parents/guardians and Case Manager. The appointment includes a tour, explanation of the program and discussion of the student’s history.

  • An admission decision is made and the Case Manager notified in writing typically within 48-hours of the intake appointment.

  • Acceptance is based on the ability to meet the cognitive, communication, social and emotional needs of the student. Students must also be deemed appropriate to be placed at a community-based internship with a paraprofessional level support staff person.

We thank you for your interest and invite you to contact us to schedule a tour or obtain additional information about the many innovative programs available to students via the UCESC Transition Services department.
